Yeasayer

I was introduced to these guys by a friend of mine. Based in Brooklyn, New York this band is full gospelesque vocals, interesting bass lines, and inventive drum beats. For starters a few good songs by them are Sunrise, and Wait For The Summer. Their first record, All Hour Cymbals is on my list of favourites and I hope you pick up some of their stuff.

Minus The Bear

Now, if you've totally hated the past two bands I've posted, I have something different. Seattle born, Minus The Bear can be best described (by me) as a complex blend of soft and smooth and just plain godlike. The vocals are amazing, well placed and smoothly delivered. while their catchy beats and interesting tones balance out the slow beginnings, of which merge gracefully into heavily drummed choruses. So I can't figure out why no one has heard of them so please do yourself a favour go on youtube or iTunes or Limewire and look them up.

Wolf Parade

This band is fairly new to my iTunes library, but they've impressed me with songs; Fancy Claps, I'll Believe In Anything, and You Are A Runner And I Am My Fathers Son. I did some research and I found out that they're from Montreal, one can't ever go wrong with canadian music. With incredible vocals and strong beats these four have dug a place in my heart. Their first album, a self titled EP was released in 2005 with Apologies To The Queen Mary released the same year.

Modest Mouse

Ok, so my most favouritest band is in fact Modest Mouse. Their sound is absolutely beautiful if hard guitar riffs and the odd banjo solo is your thing. With clever song titles and interesting melodies, a few of my favourites being Dramamine, We've Got Everything, Exit Does Not Exist, And Dashboard (the first song I ever heard by them). If you were to go out a buy an album right this very second I would have to recommend We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank or if you think you're ready for something a little harder try Good News For People Who Love Bad News.
